Platinum is certainly brilliant in its own right, with a brightness and purity unmatched by any other metal, but it is its understated elegance and ability to reflect the beauty of other objects that make it so valuable. Nothing makes the fire of a diamond, the rich colour of an emerald, the depth of a sapphire sing like a platinum setting. From the Hope Diamond to the British monarchy’s crown jewels, it is the discreetness of platinum - its ability to flatter without calling attention to itself - that makes it a beauty catalyst. Platinum propels and lifts beauty - it does not compete with it. It is this very embellishing quality that prompted La Prairie to develop the Platinum Rare Collection – to reveal, to highlight, to showcase the inherent, timeless beauty of the skin.
INTERPRETATION
La Prairie boutiques feature an artistic interpretation of the Platinum Moment. Encapsulated in a perfect circle shape – an homage to Bauhaus – intersected by platinum veins framing the minerality of the precious ingredient. A nod of the exquisite amethyst color surrounded by different shades of dark grey – the color of platinum.

The refined design of the spoon that accompanies some of the creams in the Platinum Rare Collection is fashioned after the alchemist's symbol for platinum. A fusion of the sun and moon, it recalls the strength and the softness of this most precious metal.
